Invention is Required!!!!

A single word take us to the mechanical and philosophical aspect of a very small thing. There is a complete idea behind a single phrase and a single word bears its hundreds years old history. It depends on the fundamental aspect of mind as well, that is it ready to take the idea like sponge or is it as hard as a marble floor to absorb the idea of ideas. Anyway the time, space and the universe is a great mystery which man hardly is able to solve out. Man starts thinking when he starts to observe and then the medium , tongue and language, help a young one to communicate and then the question is asked for the solution to the problem. Problem was never there in man, it was co-existing with the very environment. A child seeks good manners if the environment is conducive for healthy learning, but it is not good for a narrow environment.

It is directly under the control of instructor to have control over the class, specially students! Students are always eager to have run away from class. If by force, you are asking a student to be in class so the student will definitely have some bad impact over those students who are in class for learning purposes.

As it is clear, to all of us, the need of education in Pakistan is the need of time. We are lacking in most of the issues because of education. A tree cannot grow when its roots do not provide the proper nutrition, minerals, and water to the upper chamber. This is the case of Pakistan, unfortunately, the education houses are not providing the proper education; at this level, we need some inventions in studies. It is not necessary to have invention in scientific study or the physical sciences. Invention is ‘the ability to have new and interesting ideas’, according to Oxford Dictionary. Invention in the field of education may help us at a greater level. By looking at the loop holes we might grab the real problem and then we might find the way out to the progress.

  •   The primary education is the foundation of the learning process. In Pakistan particularly, the education provided to nursery/primary classes lacks motivation. Instead the focus must be character building on teachers end as well as on Parents end but here comes the biggest hurdle. Parents put the complete responsibility on teachers and expect that teacher will pour mannerism, ethics, morality and information. Without realising their duty they constantly create a gap between teacher, Student and themselves. The parents either educated or non educated must take the responsibility to provide informal education (moral values, cultural traditions, ethical codes and Universal Doctrine of Being Humanist under their religious or custom teachings). This gap can be covered by Teachers if the teachers have received the proper training in teaching and it is a positive step too.
We can find thousands of problems in the existing setup. We have some suggestions for those teachers who are facing the problem in developing the interest of students in their class rooms. Here are some suggestions in this regard:

Family Environment: A student when enters in class has a family behind. Particularly in South East Asia a strong Joint family system exists, which means that a student as a family member has left behind a complete family to be in the class. So the student will not take much interest in class if he has a rude and strict teacher or a person as teacher who is always asking to pour over books. A teacher should in itself be a complete family, strict as father, loving as mother, caring as sister and helpful as brother, story teller and booster as grandparents. So such environment should be created by an innovative teacher that a student must feel better in coming to class rather staying at home.

Interactive Session: This is a very important point as the other point is mentioned above. When you feel the students are not taking interest in class then feel it yourself that it is the demand of time to have some fun in class without breaking the discipline lines. How is it possible, it is up to teacher to understand how he/she can develop an interactive session. As a teacher, I have invented various terminology and some inventive games from science that helped them in maintaining their interest in class.

Creative Working: Creative working is the idea from Brain in the box. Ask students to have a formal speech preparation within 10-15 minutes. Later let them have a good work in this regard, be a judge and be initiative for the dull students in class. Such students require more attention at home as well as in schools. Recognise the talent in students and ask them to do the work of their own creation. It will provide a launching pad. If Possible link your studies to the creative side and then take a quiz, it will help you a lot as a teacher to build the information. Ask students to apply their knowledge too.

Art Work:  Simply, those who are interested in art work give a chance to them and to others to come out with some unique idea. It will provide them a broad spectrum to look into. What else a teacher wants than Creativity???

Extra Work: Home Work in form of CREATIVE WORK, ART WORK, and CLASS WORK be given to students so that they at home can spend good amount of time over their project.

Memory Test: Memory Test is more likely quiz, whatever you have taught the students as them to write the answer or concept in their own wording. Don't make it a part of their report card. But the incentives must be given to those students, who are best in their working and writing and memorising.

Class Games: Class games are the very difficult but amazing and adventurous way of learning. What ever you have taught them, divide the topic among students and ask them to draw, write or whatever they can do to explain the topic on chart they can do it. When they are finished with their work call the individuals or groups for presentation. Through this way Confident Building and Team working exercises can be conducted. Give a proper grade to students and for taking good grades give them gifts too.

Learning Games: Hangman, Pictionary, Scramble and their are various other games which are for the learning support. Ask your students to play such games once a week. Take the test out of game as well so that you might know that are they learning from games or they are taking these as entertainment source.

Incentives: At the end, do not forget to gift the book to the Students and ask them to read the book and write a summary of the book for you.
